The guy who took my order was nice and when I asked which was the best between the jerk chicken and oxtail, he said the oxtail. I asked for it to go and they packed that container up!! The oxtail is great as well as the plantains, the jollof rice is spicy and flavorful! The place is nice and open.

My go to for Ghanaian/African foods in the northern VA area. My family and I have tried so many things on the menu and we all have that one thing that we stick to. Mine is fried yam and fried Turkey or beef. Kenkey and okra stew is my favorite Ghanaian food but they don't have kenkey so sometimes I get just the okra stew then buy kenkey from somewhere else. Others in my family goes with banku and tilapia most of the time. Recently we ordered food and the sauce that came with the banku and fried yam tasted a little different. The sauce had way too much ginger for me so we had to make our own sauce to eat with the banku and fried yam. I know others love a lot of ginger in their sauce, i like just a little bit. I also noticed things are a bit pricey now. I plan on trying different things on the menu when I am in the area. They are always nice and patient on the phone when we call to order, staff are nice and friendly. Food is done in a timely manner. Good ambiance and place looks clean when we go to pick up. I can tell they are good people, that's why this place is always going to be our go to for African food.

This is the nicest Ghanaian restaurant I've been to in the Woodbridge area. My friend and I were greeted by the owner, the moment we walked in. We ordered our food before sitting down. I was very surprised they had everything we ordered on menu available because it's rare at most Ghanaian restaurants. Our food came out really quickly. For drinks, I ordered the spicy hibiscus drink it was really good. For food, I ordered the Attieke with tilapia. The tilapia was well seasoned and tasted so good. The Attieke was all right. The presentation alone was beautiful. My friend ordered the FuFu with goat soup. I gave it a try, and it tasted so good! I highly recommend this Ghanaian restaurant. It was super clean and the service was quick. I will be returning for sure.

Randomly stumbled upon this place and I'm definitely glad I did! The food is flavorful and I really enjoyed it. Ambiance: 5/5 - I love afrobeats music and since that was playing i was vibin! It was a fun environment + they had the nfl Sunday games going so I can't complain. Price: 4.5/5 - They give large portions and I think the price is justified. Food: 4/5 - It was my first time trying jollof rice and it was very solid. I was surprised that they had a crispy texture. The oxtail was super flavorful and I enjoyed every bite. My only complaint here is that although the portions are large, I received a ton of rice and not enough oxtail and it felt like the ratio was off. Service: 5/5 - Friendly staff and the restaurant was starting to get busy when I arrived but they were still checking on me.

Do not judge this book by it's cover. Inside this establishment the crew is pumping out authentic and delicious West African (Ghanian) cuisine. There is also a few Caribbean foods on the menu as well. I stopped by for dinner with a friend of mine, and we were greeted by a nice and warm fragrant aroma. We ordered the Motherland Special. I asked for Joloff rice, black eyed peas, plantains, and beef and fried croaker. The food came out & was extremely flavorful and bold in flavors! I could taste the roots of West Africa in each and every bite. The beef was juicy and tender, and the fish was crispy and decadent! My goodness! The plantains were just as smooth and sweet! The joloff rice was spicy, and made me want to stomp my feet and holler!!! This food was just a trip down delicious lane! They are the real deal baby! One thing i'll note is to that the staff can be somewhat stern and non-chalant. One example, when I came to the register the gentleman spent about 2 minutes calculating receipts before he finally looked up and asked me what i'd love to order. The staff could be a bit more inviting, otherwise the food is on point! Check this place out! Cheers to good eats!

Still the best west African food around. My twelve year old son wanted to try Fufu. This time I got the Motherland combo with jollof rice, spinach and goat. They also include a couple of plantains too. Ordered Fufu with peanut soup and chicken. If you like spicy food, you will love this place.
